Book Review: The 5 am Club by Robin Sharma

When we are putting our Alarm on Snooze in the morning, the Business Tycoons like Mark Zukerberg, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Jack Dorsey, Richard Benson, Barak Obama…. are busy in improving their health, Mind and soul passionately.

Today, I am going to share those 4 Principles which Robin Sharma has explained in his book ‘The 5 AM Club’. In this book, he is emphasizing on the fact that you need to own your morning if you want to elevate your life

What are those 4 Principles which will change your life ??

Let’s see what is this 20/20/20 Formula?

He says 5-6 am is actually the victory hour. If we divide this 1 hour in  20-20 minutes,

5:00 – 5:20 is the time, we need to do high intensity exercise, which make us sweat. This sweating and energy causes release of a chemical BDNF in our brain. BDNF is Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor. As a result, it reduced Mental Stress and accelerates neuro-connections in our brain. It increases our Energy and Focus.

5:20 – 5:40 is the time to reflect ourself in an isolated place and analyse the bigger picture of our life. Here, we need to think that whatever actions we are taking in Life, is it in right direction to achieve our Long term goal? This is also the time to set our today’s Goal, weekly and monthly Goals. Are we going to meet our Yearly Goal or we are deviating from path? This is also the time for meditation and planning. It gives us vision and Clarity in life. Here, we can also analyze the important tasks and can eliminate the non-productive tasks.

5:40-6:00 is the time to grow. To gain knowledge in our field. During this time, we can read motivated books, auto-biographies of the Great Leaders & we can listen to audio-books or podcasts.

If we apply this 20/20/20 Formula for 1 Year, it means we would have done 122 hrs of Exercise, 122 hours of analyzing our Life and 122 hours in collecting quality content and knowledge.
