India is country where different types of diseases are present. Government of India takes various steps to control these severe diseases.  Our Government mainly focuses on health and education system of India. Nowadays, Dengue is one of the most contagious diseases present in India. Dengue is a viral disease caused by Dengue virus. Dengue is spread by female mosquitoes named ‘Aedes Aegypti’. This mosquito bites in daylight. Virus takes 4 to 5 days to develop. It is very important to take some needful steps to avoid dengue infection.

Three Symptoms of Dengue are 10 Hafte 10 Baje 10 Minute

  1. High fever,
  2. Low count of blood platelets
  3. Pain in joints.

This disease is also known as Break bone Fever.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a special campaign to tackle Dengue and Chikungunya.  This campaign is “ 10Hafte 10Baje 10minute” Har Ravivaar Dengue pe Vaar which will help in reducing number of patients suffering from dengue.

According to the government, 15,867 cases of Dengue and Chikungunya were reported in 2015. In 2018, that number was down to 2,798 cases. Seventy five cases have been reported so far in 2019.

To reduce the number, the Delhi government has launched a programme for 10 weeks, appealed to  residents of Delhi to take out 10 minutes at 10 o’clock every Sunday to check their houses and surroundings for any mosquito breeding spots. The campaign launched on 1 September.

“A large scale awareness programme has been undertaken. A lot of fever and mohalla clinics have also been set up. This year we don’t want the figure to increase. We want to be free permanently. From 1 September we are starting a massive campaign. We are appealing to the people of Delhi that they give 10 minutes at 10 am every Sunday to check their houses. Dengue thrives on clean water,” Kejriwal said.

This campaign will undertaken by chief minister, cabinet minister, member of legislative assembly and officers of Delhi government.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare celebrated National Dengue Day on May 16. Their aim was to aware people about how to prevent and control dengue.

 Steps to control Dengue

  1. There is only way to prevent dengue that is, Don’t let the mosquito bite you.
  2. Don’t expose your skin. You should wear full sleeved shirts and long pants to protect bite.
  3. Use stuffs like All Out, Nets, Repellent cream etc.
  4. Avoid scented deodorants because their fragrance attracts mosquitoes.
  5. Aedes mosquito stays in stagnant water, Avoid stagnant water in your surroundings. Air coolers and Buckets should be clean time to time to avoid Aedes Aegypti’ mosquito.
