21 years ago, one of the biggest companies in the world launched a prototype of a large scale search engine – Google. Google is an American multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products. Today, Google celebrated its 21st birthday with a special doodle. Doodle set up a throwback photo of old bulky computers which shows a Google screen. There is a date written on the image i.e. “98 9 27” Which represents the birth date of Google i.e. 27th September, 1998.
What is Google Doodle?
A Google Doodle is result of Google that shows up briefly on uncommon events instead of Google’s changeless logo on the landing page. The doodle marks significant celebrations, individuals, accomplishments and occasions. The first-historically speaking Google Doodle was made to pay tribute to the Burning Man Festival of 1998.
When Google was found?
The real date when Google was founded is a mystery. Even the company admits that they do not know the real date when it was started. Google was founded by two Stanford’s students Lary Page and Sergey Brin in California in 1998. Lary Page and Sergey Brin were Ph.D. students. Before discovering Google they also developed a search algorithm known as Backrub. Backrub was a seed which would be developed into Google in future. The original name of Google was Googol which is a mathematical term meaning 10 raise to the power of 100.
“We chose our systems name, Google, because it is a common spelling of googol, or 10100 and fits well with our goal of building very large-scale search engines,” the students had said.
After further development, Google became very popular. Later, a company sun Microsystems, funded Google then became a legal entity and set up its first office in California.
In 2001, Google got a Patent for its innovation and Larry Page was recorded as the designer. After this the organization opened up to the world. As the years passed, Google presented a variety of items, for example, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs and an internet browser called Google Chrome.
In 2015, Google experienced corporate rebuilding and Alphabet Inc turned into the parent organization of Google. Together Google and Alphabet are among the world’s greatest combinations.
As of September 2019, Google’s total assets is evaluated at around $300 billion and the parent organization Alphabet is assessed to be worth $900 billion making them the third most significant organization after Amazon and Apple.
“The relentless search for better answers continues to be at the core of everything we do. Today, with more than 60,000 employees in 50 different countries, Google makes hundreds of products used by billions of people across the globe, from YouTube and Android to Smart box and, of course, Google Search,” the company’s website says.
