Loss During the Prostest:
Three civilians and one police officer have been killed in protest. Around 50 people, including 37 police officials, have been injured after supporters and opponents of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) clashed on Sunday and Monday in the northeastern part of Delhi. Tyre market was set on fire. Several vehicles were set on fire in Jaffrabad and Maujpur. People were throwing big stones from their houses. Police fired tear gas to disperse the protesters. Hundreds of women were peacefully protesting against the CAA since Saturday night near the Jaffrabad Metro station. But on Sunday, after Mishra led the rally, his supporters pelted with stones leading to clashes, Mishra said, “We have given a three-day ultimatum to the Delhi Police to get the road cleared. Get the Jaffrabad and Chandbagh road cleared”. The violence began almost immediately after, with a group of people seen running from the Jaffrabad side towards Babarpur. Actions taken by Supreme Court:
The Supreme Court has agreed to hear an application filed by former Chief information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah and others seeking lodging of FIRs with regard to the recent violence in Delhi over the amended citizenship law. Meanwhile, a plea has been moved in Delhi High Court seeking independent judicial inquiry and compensation for the deceased persons.
Condition of Delhi After Protest:
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Appealed to Delhiites to maintain Peace. He said that District Megistrate has been asked to take out peace marches in the affected areas. Jaffrabad, Maujpur-Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave and Shiv Vihar Metro stations will continue to remain closed after tensions prevail in the areas after the clashes between anti and pro-CAA protesters on Monday night. Trains are being terminated at Welcome Metro station.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police said the Wazirabad Raod has been opened for vehicular movement. Additionally, till around 4 pm, traffic is likely to remain heavy in the areas of Moti Bagh, Chanakyapuri, India Gate, areas around ITO, Delhi Gate and the adjoining areas of Central and New Delhi. In the evening, traffic is likely to remain heavy in Chanakyapuri, RML roundabout, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi-Gurgaon Road (NH-48) and adjoining areas. Necessary traffic diversions as per ground situation may also be enforced.
It’ been a height of riots on CAA. Everyone should first study about this only then take actions.
